would someone seriously consider arranging for an apostafest up in scotland next year?

i know i'm asking this early but i feel it would be good to put the feelers out now.. obviously, it would have to be a location easy to get to - so that means stornoway is out!

Well, that would be a first for me! Who better to do it with, eh? (Is there someone who can carry me back to my hotel? ;) )

scotsman: while i have no desire to be 'in charge' of a bunch of wild apostates if you let me know how many of you there are and where you're staying I'll be able to point you in the right direction.

I think it's already been suggested that somewhere central would be good as we're likely to be staying in different places...

sirona: It won't be possible for everyone to stay near each other. SO We need to know who is arriving on Friday. I would love some suggestions on a Friday venue. I think Friday should just be a pub meetup with food (and we'll take it from there). Saturday is the big night and I think we should maybe have a meal and then go out. If we can I will arrange the Ghost Tour.

Sounds good. I'll book somewhere for Friday and Saturday night.

I don't know the background to your situation you've summarised there, but there's only one person each of us can be responsible for... and that holds true for your family, too. We can't make anyone think. So look after yourself, and live the life that is yours.

this question is a hypothetical one, posing a, what would you do type situation.

think back to the days of the bible kings for the nation of israel.

there were bad kings who took israel off track by their rule and some good kings who instituded changes that brought them back on track.

All organised religion is broken. Why stop at hypothetically fixing Jehovah's Witnesses? As long as myths and writings of humans masquerade as divinely-inspired communication we will have high control groups.

just got home from buying my mega millions lottery ticket(its at $280m).

i was thinking on the way home 'when i win should i thank jehovah for this bountiful blessing?

Heh; this reminds me of when Venus Williams thanked her God, Jehovah, for the opportunity of winning Wimbledon. I was still in at the time and was disgusted!

that happened in 70 ce... i guess it has 2 fulfillments.... i'm drinking a beer right now, not in the mood for this conversation... mostly i hear, bla bla bla bla bla....... he's trying to figure something out... i asked whether those scriptures had 1 or 2 fulfillments... anyone know???.

sometimes this is exhausting... .

I don't know the background to your situation cognac, but I guess it would be a mistake to push anything on him, especially if it specifically mentioned JW's. Maybe keep to resources which don't do so?

Which bible translation do you prefer?

i have decided to buy myself a bible.. i have a new world translation but the large print version, so i tend not to use it.

after reading crisis of conscience i have decided to discard this translation anyway, but at a loss as to what translation to use.

i also have a few old king james bibles but the language is unreadable to me.

My experience of using different translations is very limited, but I enjoyed using the New English Bible as it is a lot more readable than the NWT.
